It looks like the release date for Resident Evil 9 could be announced soon, according to recent reports.
In July 2024, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 9 (currently not its official title) is in development; however, since that time, we’ve heard little else, at least officially, regarding the next entry in the ever-popular survival horror series.
A few weeks ago, Capcom seemingly teased that a new announcement is on the way when thanking fans for helping the 2023 Resident Evil 4 remake achieve a sales milestone.

Little is known about Resident Evil 9 at this time, but rumours have claimed that it will feature both Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine as playable characters, which would be a first, if true.
At the time of writing, we’ve still not had a release date for Resident Evil 9 or even a gameplay trailer but could that soon change with Summer Game Fest around the corner?
As reported by Andi Sperling of ScreenFire), according to Capcom’s financial report to investors, it intends to release Resident Evil 9 during Q1 2026, meaning that it could land anywhere between 1 January to 31 March 2026.
Capcom officially announced the Resident Evil 4 remake in June 2022, and it was later released nearly a year later on 24 March 2023.

This year's Summer Game Fest takes place from 6 June to 9 June 2025, so if Resident Evil 9 is announced during this time, a March 2026 release seems likely, judging by previous Capcom rollouts.
Known leaker of information of the video game industry AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, corroborated the reports of Andi Sperling to be true based on his own information.
However, all unconfirmed rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
