Resident Evil 9 fans are losing their minds over some new gameplay images, and I’m with them.
Over Summer Game Fest weekend, the wait was finally over with Capcom officially revealing Resident Evil 9 with a glorious trailer, taking us back to the nuked Raccoon City, decades after the 1998 incident from Resident Evil 2.
What’s more, we also learned the full title of the game, Resident Evil Requiem, and it will be released in February 2026. That’s assuming it suffers no delay, but Capcom is quite consistent when it comes to its games arriving on time.

In Resident Evil Requiem, we will play as FBI agent, Grace Ashcroft. If that surname sounds familiar, there’s a good reason why. She might share the same surname as the protagonist's family from Resident Evil Code: Veronica, but Grace is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak.
Following the epic trailer reveal, new screenshots of Resident Evil Requiem are making the social media rounds, and it’s fair to say that fans are hyped, to say the least.
“EVERYBODY WAKE UP, NEW RESIDENT EVIL REQUIEM PHOTOS,” yelled Twitter user villagenity, sharing four new screenshots.

The screenshots in question show a close-up image of Grace, a monster that looks like a zombie, as well as inside a building, which could be the Raccoon City General Hospital.
“I’m so excited for Resident Evil Requiem,” replied samorips5.
“Love the monster design, it’s very Resident Evilish,” said VicsHatake.
Many of the commenters are also thrilled that Resident Evil Requiem looks to be played with a third-person camera perspective, made famous by 2005's Resident Evil 4 on the Nintendo GameCube. That being said, I hope there’s an option to switch between first and third-person on the fly.

Resident Evil Requiem will be released on 27 February 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
