Epic Games recently announced that the Unreal Engine 5 is now available to everyone, and development studios are falling over each other to create their upcoming games in the state of the art engine.

People are excited for the latest Tomb Raider and Witcher games being made in the engine which has shown photorealistic graphics that react dynamically to lighting and movement. Despite the excitement over these new games in development, there are numerous fan projects which people have been equally delighted with. You want to see an updated Mass Effect? You got it! Ever wondered what a Zelda game would look like on PlayStation 5? Well there’s plenty of that too.

If you want to see just what the incredible game engine is capable of, then take a look at this show reel in the video below.

If studios won’t give us what we want, then it is up to the fans to recreate games the way they’ve always dreamt of. While rumours of an official Resident Evil 4 remake have been floating around for a while, developer Capcom has never made that announcement officially. That leaves it to fans to make their dreams a reality.

As spotted by DSOGaming, 3D artist Daniel Siemieniaco has been doing exactly that. While he has only recreated the terrifying scene in the Regenerator’s Lab, it is still very much a sight to behold.

Modelled in Unreal Engine 4, it is even more impressive what he has managed to create, as it doesn’t include all the updated features of the latest programme. Siemieniaco also changed the perspective from third to first person, which is in line with more recent Resident Evil games including Village.

It’s unclear whether Siemieniaco will continue the project or whether this scene was simply a proof of concept. Either way what he has created is very impressive indeed.
