Red Dead Redemption remaster announcement imminent, says insider

One insider has claimed that a Red Dead Redemption remaster announcement is imminent.

Rockstar Games are still refusing to acknowledge the fact that a Red Dead Redemption remake is seemingly on the way, but that could change today according to one insider. Uh oh.

Such a remake has been rumoured for years, but those rumours gained traction last month when a South Korean ratings board listed a brand new version of the game on their site. Just one week ago, a new logo was added to Rockstar Games’ website’s backend which appeared to confirm the title to be Rockstar Games Presents Red Dead Redemption. You don’t need to worry about the project being as dire as GTA’s Definitive Edition Trilogy as it looks as if Red Dead Redemption will be getting the remake treatment, more so than being a simple remaster. One insider also claims that the game will arrive on Nintendo Switch. We don’t know when the game is set to be formally announced but one insider is claiming that day is today.

Enjoy some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

Twitter user that1detectiv3 wrote, “Tomorrow is the rumoured date for a Red Dead Redemption remaster announcement ahead of the Take Two earnings call next week. It’ll most likely happen later in the month, but I’m all for surprises.” As I mentioned, it’s looking as if the project will be a remake, but many are (perhaps accidentally) referring to it as a remaster online, so I’d maybe overlook this.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Rockstar Games could drop the announcement today. Gamescom’s Opening Night Live is just around the corner. It makes sense that Rockstar would make the announcement at the Geoff Keighley fronted show but then again, Rockstar have always enjoyed marching to the beat of their own drum, so I wouldn’t be shocked if they did a sudden Twitter reveal.

I’d take what this insider says with a generous pinch of salt though. Of course, we’re keeping a close eye on all the latest Red Dead Redemption remake news and rumours.
