Red Dead Redemption Fans Hit Out At Rockstar For Ignoring Them To Focus On 'GTA 5'

The Red Dead Redemption community has had enough. Rockstar Games has put a metaphorical snake in the metaphorical boot of fans everywhere, and they're not gonna take it anymore.

Earlier this month, Red Dead Online players rose up in protest of the game's latest paltry update, demanding Rockstar Games "save" the online Western before it's too late. Even as someone who doesn't play Red Dead Online, I must admit it's been hard to watch Rockstar squander such a gorgeous and detailed open world by refusing to do anything with it.

Fast forward a few weeks, and nothing has changed. Rockstar never responded to the upset fans, and the Red Dead Redemption community remains ticked off.

Over on Reddit, that anger is once again starting to boil over as fans accuse the developer of ignoring Red Dead Redemption II and Red Dead Online to continually focus on Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online. Given that GTA V is about to receive yet another re-release on new-gen consoles, it's not hard to see where the fans are coming from, is it?

"When will Rockstar finally give the Red Dead fan base attention instead of remastering GTA V over and over?" one fan wrote on the game's subreddit. "This game has barely been touched since release 3 years ago. We need a revamp, content, anything!! Just give us something!"

"I just wanted the Rockstar Editor," added another. "RDR2 is such a beautiful game and to not have that included (which GTA IV & V did) is a sin."

Others are questioning why the game still doesn't have the option for 60fps on consoles, while a few are hoping we might yet see an "expanded and enhanced" remaster in the style of the incoming GTA V port.

For now, it's clear that GTA will remain the focus at Rockstar for the time being. But, as a couple of users have argued already, that doesn't stop Red Dead Redemption II from being a glorious, full experience in its own right. Red Dead Online certainly needs work, but the single-player? I think we leave it where it is for now.
