Red Dead Redemption fans have been begging for new content for years now. Red Dead Redemption 2 may be enormous, but it’s been almost half a decade since its release - you can’t blame people for craving something new.
If the rumours are to be believed, then a new Red Dead release might be on the horizon now, actually. Well, I say ‘new’, but it’s thought that a remake of the first game could be in the works. It was recently spotted that a fresh rating for Red Dead Redemption has surfaced on South Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) website, which is completely separate to the original ratings for the game on Xbox 360 and PS3 (as well as its Undead Nightmare expansion and Game of the Year edition). It wouldn’t be the first time that a new game has been leaked in this manner, but as of now, Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed if the rating actually means anything.

Over on Reddit though, fans are currently begging for a completely different Red Dead Redemption game. Gamers have been discussing which characters would have the “most compelling” spinoff titles, and everyone is in agreement that a game based solely on Charles Smith would be amazing.

“I feel like a game with him would have to precede Red Dead 2. Even though he was the most morally just member of the gang he still participated in a lot of bad with them and likely did in other gangs. But it could work, maybe having him be younger he makes mistakes that weigh on him and he grows and changes into the Charles we know and love,” interplanetarystd wrote. “I don't think Charles was ever in other gangs. Arthur mentions how easily Charles could run it on his own and Charles replies with how he is tired of being on his own and that's why he chose Dutch's gang. To me this makes Charles the best character for a spinoff as he was only with the gang for six months before the Blackwater job,” replied ThatBeardedHistorian.
A game following the events of a younger Charles would certainly be interesting - as Red Dead fans will know, he ran away from his home when he was just 13 years old to wander the country, before he eventually wound up with the Van der Linde gang a few months before the events of RDR2. I know I’d play it.
