Red Dead Redemption 2 Has a Secret Feature Perfect For Pacifists

Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are just now realising that the game has a secret feature aimed at pacifists.

Rockstar Games made sure to pack Red Dead Redemption 2 with a lot of details, some of them hidden from plain sight, and many such details can also provide you with gameplay benefits.

Those pursuing a low honour playthrough may want to take advantage of this feature which allows you to rob stores without becoming wanted by the law.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Feature Lets You Rob Stores Without Getting A Bounty

As demonstrated in a video posted to the Red Dead Redemption Reddit page, in the single-player portion of RDR2, Arthur is shown robbing several stores in Valentine without setting off any wanted levels by the local law enforcement.

To do this, you need to head into the General Store in Valentine and point your gun at the shopkeeper. Wait a while after holding him up, and he’ll eventually exit the store out of the back door.

Once he leaves and is out of sight, head to the cash register and rob it, then leave the store. You’ll avoid getting a wanted status using this method.

The video then shows the player heading to the doctor’s office down the road and doing the same thing, leaving the doctor time to leave the building, and then robbing the register when nobody is looking.

For pacifist players, this can be a good way of robbing stores without accruing a large body count of potential police officers that have come to arrest you.

However, the player demonstrates that doing this to the gun store owner results in him turning his own weapon on you, leaving you with the possibility of having to kill him. However, the player still doesn’t get a wanted level as a result of this.

As the player shows, on your way out of Valentine, you may be confronted by a police officer investigating the crime. You can simply talk to this officer and choose to “defuse” the situation, allowing you to escape the town without getting wanted.

It’s a good one for low honour players who still want to avoid a bloodbath, as being able to rob this many stores in an early section of the game (remember, Valentine is featured in Chapter 2 of Red Dead Redemption 2) is a decent way to earn some money.

And if you can do it without gaining the attention of the law and owing bounty, even better.
