Red Dead Redemption 2 players stunned by hidden cheat code found after four years

Red Dead Redemption 2 players are stunned by a hidden cheat code found nearly five years after the game was released.

Released in October 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 is not only considered to be one of Rockstar Games’ very best, but some consider the wild west action adventure to be one of the best games of all time, and with Metacritic scores in the high 90s, it’s hard to dispute that opinion.

Offering as a prequel to the 2010 game, set during the late 1890s in the United States, you play as outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang led by Dutch. Red Dead Redemption 2 has a compelling story from start to finish, but its world is also packed with a plethora of activities such as bounty and wildlife hunting, side stories, gambling, crafting and so much more.

Players can stay invested in the world of RDR2 for hundreds of hours, thousands even and that’s not even taking into account Red Dead Online. Yet, Rockstar’s wild west adventure continues to be a gift that keeps on giving, such as cheat codes that are continually being discovered within its world.

“Real. I’ve never seen this before and it’s my 3rd play through,” posted Reddit user CommanderDan, unbeknownst to them that they may have stumbled across a cheat code.

“Another one of these left behind sayings, each one is a different cheat code,” replied ImportantMoment5001. Reddit user AgentUpright revealed what this apparent cheat code unlocks. “It’s a cheat code. That one spawns a wagon. See also “Keep your dreams light” and “Would you be happier as a clown?” they said.

To be honest, I’ve put 100s of hours into Red Dead Redemption 2 and I had no idea that cheat codes were hiding throughout its world, so this is totally new to me and it seems I’m not alone on this either.

“Just learning this game had cheat codes and I have 2 100+ hr playthroughs under my belt. Time for a 3rd 100+ hr playthrough I guess,” exclaimed von-brohenheim.

“How does one use said cheat codes? never even knew that was a thing,” asked the originator of the thread. “Pause the game, go to settings then press Triangle if you’re on PS, I think,” answered General_Galileo. However, another Reddit user warned that you apparently cannot save the game when cheats are activated.
