We just got a pretty major hint that a new Eeveelution may be on its way, due to a poorly timed event in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Thank you in advance to DualShockers’ Scott Baird for the original source!

It’s been pretty obvious that The Pokémon Company is cooking up something Eevee-related this year, and we got our first hint all the way back in January with the announcement of “The Year of Eevee”.

“The new year has just begun, and while it’s difficult to predict exactly what 2025 has in store, there’s one guarantee—an abundance of Eevee,” The Pokémon Center website revealed.

“The Pokémon Center will be celebrating Eevee and each of its adorable Evolutions all year long, so there are plenty of exciting products to look forward to.”

Now until today, the Year of Eevee mostly just amounted to some cute stuffed plushies. However, some eagle-eyed fans have spotted something a little bit suspect about the latest Pokémon Scarlet and Violet giveaway– something that points to a new Eeveelution being on the horizon.

From February 7 to February 27, several retailers are giving away Flying Tera Type Eevees in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. That might not seem too wild on paper, but the day the event ends (February 27) is Pokémon Day.

This has led a lot of people to speculate that the Flying Tera Type Eevee is actually a hint towards the next form of Eeveelution we might see, perhaps even in the upcoming Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

There’s no way to know for sure until the end of the month, but considering a flying-type Eevee was leaked at one point in time… it’s not completely out of left field.

Here’s hoping we get a nice juicy reveal on February 27 (along with a new trailer for Pokemon Legends: Z-A).
