Pokémon fans seem to think that a brand new evolutionary line for Eevee is on the way, thanks to an ongoing celebration that’s currently being held by The Pokémon Company.
Did you know that 2025 is, officially, the “Year of Eevee”? Well you’ve been missing out if you’re only finding out now, because the event has been going on since January this year.
As revealed on the official Pokémon Center website at the start of the year, the majority of the new products and promotions on the site have been entirely Eevee-themed. This includes new plushies, models, toys, and even Eevee-specific discounts.

But what does any of this have to do with a new evolution for Eevee in Nintendo’s Pokémon games?
Fans are theorising that this promotion isn’t specific to the Pokémon Center site, and that The Pokémon Company is actually building up to something even bigger (or at least, that’s what the comments in this thread over on the r/pokemon subreddit seem to think).
“Could be possible. The last Eveelution we got was Sylveon in X/Y, and not only are we returning to Kalos later this year but I've always felt that (like a lot of things in X/Y) Sylveon was kinda missing something”, commented user NerdbyanyotherName.
“It is wishful thinking with at least a little support, but I wouldn't hold my breath.”

“I want a regional Eevee that does a physical set of evolutions. Also, please help Flareon, he's not okay”, replied user jibbyjackjoe.
Of course, the real question is, if they were to introduce a new type any time soon (like, for instance, in the upcoming Nintendo Switch game Pokémon Legends: Z-A), what type would they actually end up being?
Personally, my money is on a flying type Eevee, just because I think it would be super easy to make it look cute as hell. Although part of me does want to see an angry little fighting-type Eevee, too.
