Like the youngest, oldest and middle siblings, the ongoing war between PC, PlayStation and Xbox gaming has been the basis of disagreements for what feels like millenia.
With PlayStation users missing out on Xbox exclusives and Xbox users missing out on PlayStation exclusives and PC owners having to wait even longer for big releases (I am looking at you Grand Theft Auto VI), it seemed as though the debate on which was “better” would never cease.
However, thanks to one hit title, it seems as though the war has finally come to an end as the game makes its way to every platform.
Yes, I am talking about Helldivers 2.

First released back in 2024 for PlayStation 5 and Windows, the game became an instant success and has since sold around 15 million copies.
However, that number is now expected to shoot up as, as of 26 August, Helldivers 2 is now available to play on the Xbox Series X/S, making it the first game published by Sony to release on an Xbox platform.
Now that the hit third-person shooter game is available across all platforms, players have taken to r/playstation to share their thoughts alongside a meme posted by Xbox itself.
Posted on the Xbox Twitter account, the caption reads, “Super Earth calls for aid. And Xbox will answer.”

It comes alongside an image of three soldiers joining hands with each representing Xbox players, PC players and PlayStation players.
Can the console war finally be declared over?
User SolidusBruh said, “Real homies know the war’s been a myth for over a decade. We game where we game.”
However, another user had a different take.

“Fools, the console war is what generates good games,” they shared.
"The console war is over," simply declared aligameover.
It remains to be seen how Helldivers 2 will impact console exclusive titles going forward but it is an exciting step in the right direction nonetheless.
