In case you missed it, PlayStation Plus announced an absolute whopper of an update yesterday. In fact, it was unveiled that the extra and premium tiers will collectively gain 23 new additions - and the line-up more than makes up for this monthâs essential tier disappointment.
If you havenât yet checked out this monthâs essential tier PlayStation Plus line-up, subscribers can currently grab GRID Legends, Descenders, and Chivalry II. Itâs not a line-up that screams mass appeal. Many subscribers actually branded the trio as âtrashâ although, after the initial let down, some players are now attesting that Chivalry II is actually a fun gem that shouldnât be missed. Letâs hop back on over to the extra and premium tier drop though. Specifically, I want to point out that the juicy 23 game drop includes one of gamingâs best trilogies: Tomb Raider.
Take a look at the series in action below.
The rebooted Tomb Raider trilogy will soon be added to the extra tier on 16 May. That includes Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PS4), Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration (PS4), and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (PS4). The first two instalments were created by Crystal Dynamics, while Shadow was made by Eidos-Montréal.

Shadow often gets a bad rep but itâs honestly my favourite in the trilogy. Sprawling hubs to explore, varied combat, an epic final sequence - and foes that scared the living daylights out of me? What more could you possibly want? Seriously though, Iâm still not sure Iâm ready to face the Yaaxil in another playthrough again yet. The sounds in those caves? The echoing screams, the scurrying ⊠I just shuddered.
If youâre a fan of Uncharted though and are bemoaning the fact that thereâs not another instalment, Tomb Raider may be the trilogy for you. If thatâs not up your alley, the following titles are also joining the extra tier: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5), Humanity (PS4/PS5), Watch Dogs: Legion (PS4/PS5), Dishonored 2 (PS4), Dishonored: Death of the Outsider (PS4), Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin (PS4), Bus Simulator 21: Next Stop (PS4/PS5), The Evil Within 2 (PS4), Wolfenstein: Youngblood (PS4), Thymesia (PS5), Rain World (PS4), Lake (PS4/PS5), Conan Exiles (PS4), Rune Factory 4 Special (PS4), Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (PS4), and Soundfall (PS4/PS5).
Premium subscribers will then also get: Syphon Filter: Loganâs Shadow (PS4/PS5), Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light (PS4/PS5), Pursuit Force (PS4/PS5), and Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered (PS4). I recommend checking out Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart if you havenât already.
