PlayStation Plus Games For December Have Been Announced

One of the best shooters in years is going to be free for PlayStation Plus members in December.

As we head into December there's an important bit of life admin every gamer needs to do: work out what they're going to play over Christmas. Will it be a game that's eluded them all year - maybe they're going to finally get round to playing Resident Evil 2 or Sekiro, or they're going to go out and pick up something new, such as Death Stranding or Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Well, if you've a PlayStation Plus subscription then you'll have another couple of games to choose from.

Except, it's not really a choice: one of the games is Titanfall 2, the exceptionally good shooter from Respawn Entertainment, makers of Apex Legends and the new Star Wars game. If you've not played it then you absolutely have to get it downloaded and installed as soon as it becomes available on December 3.

Titanfall 2 has an incredible singleplayer campaign that is stuffed full of new ideas and breathtaking level design. I know I'm throwing a lot of superlatives at this game, but really Titanfall 2 is easily one of the best games of the decade. You'll fight through a string of levels with your AI-controlled mech companion, taking on hordes of sci-fi enemies in a world rusting with age. It's truly something special. Check out the trailer below to get a hint of what I'm talking about:

Also, since the release of Apex Legends, the multiplayer has really picked up, too. Players who have enjoyed Respawn's battle royale have been going back through the studio's catalogue of games to see what they've been missing.

The second game included for PlayStation Plus members is less exciting: Monster Energy Supercross. It's basically Excite Bike with more branding. It should do in a pinch if you're looking for something new to play, but maybe don't stake your Christmas break on it.

The news still hasn't been officially announced, but Sony's Polish PlayStation website ran the story early, which was quickly grabbed by internet hound Nibel (via Eurogamer):

So, what will you be playing this Christmas?
