GTA 5 Trevor 'James Bond' DLC confirmed by actor

Grand Theft Auto V's Trevor almost returned in a James Bond-esque adventure

We’re on the final countdown to Grand Theft Auto VI. It may not feel like it given that we’re still without a release date but the next instalment in Rockstar’s acclaimed series is indeed coming in 2025.

Over a decade in the making, you might think that nothing could dull our excitement. The surfacing of a cancelled GTA V DLC though has proved to be a temporary dagger to the heart.

Back in December, a major source code leak confirmed that Rockstar Games had once considered creating eight story-based DLCs for GTA V.

The obtained titles were: SP Assassination Pack, SP Manhunt Pack, SP Norman Pack, Agent Trevor, Relationship Pack, Enterprise Pack, Prologue DLC, and Liberty V DLC.

Sadly, none of the aforementioned projects ever came to light, largely due to the fact that Rockstar Games put their efforts into building out GTA Online instead.

Trevor actor Steven Ogg has now lifted the lid on the James Bond-esque Agent Trevor DLC though, confirming to fans that motion capture was actually obtained for the forgotten project.

ICYMI: Take a look at the glorious GTA VI trailer below.

Ogg was appearing on Streamily’s The Official GTA V Q&A alongside fellow cast member Ned Luke.

“We did shoot some of that stuff with James Bond Trevor," Ogg explained. "He's still kind of a f**k up, but he's doing his best to pretend to be like [undercover]. And we shot some stuff and it just disappeared.”

“They never followed up on it," he added, saying how much fun it would’ve been to individually explore each member of GTA V’s main trio.

The fact that GTA Online drew resources away from GTA V’s post-launch content has always caused contention amongst the fanbase. This latest news simply rubs salt in the wound.

“I despise GTA Online,” wrote one disgruntled fan.

“Such a missed opportunity. Sounds like the actors had a lot of fun working on it,” said another.

“Classic modern Rockstar. It’s cool to know they filmed it though, so it was probably deep in development,” read one tweet.

I’m afraid dwelling on what could’ve been is all we can do in this case.
