The Metal Gear Solid remake rumours have gone to the next level after an Irish singer-songwriter confirmed that she had written a new song for a PlayStation game to be announced in the winter.
So, to the uninitiated, it's worth explaining how we're connecting the dots between a Metal Gear Solid revival and Éabha McMahon. When the credits roll on the game, a song titled The Best is Yet To Come plays. Written by Rika Muranaka and performed by Aoife Ní Fhearraigh in the Irish language, it's an iconic song that returns in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as a song entry on the in-game iPod.
If we pour the words "PlayStation," "Irish language" and "big game" into a beaker and add a sprinkling of the rumours that Konami is going to develop remakes of its classic portfolio of games, then we should see a puff of smoke that spells out "Metal Gear Solid remake." While it isn't confirmed, it does sound a lot like McMahon has been included in the new arrangement of a song for a remake of the 1998 game.

"[Composer Michael McGlynn] says, 'Look, it's an Irish language piece that they're looking for,'" explained McMahon in the interview with Irish radio program The Lunchbox (cheers Gematsu). McGlynn worked with McMahon in the past as part of the Irish choral ensemble Anúna, and the collaboration was completed about 18 months ago.
"So really what I was involved with was the lyric writing in the Irish language, and his daughter sang on the track and his wife arranged part of the choral parts, and so did Michael. And he also worked with me on the language side of things, so it was almost like a family effort.

"It's actually going to be announced at Christmas-the name of the game. I have heard of it now and I have confirmed it is a big game, which is great! It's going to be an Irish language piece in the game, which is brilliant," concluded McMahon. Well, like I say, it's not confirmed at the moment.
