Two Months After Removal, 'Cyberpunk 2077' Is Still Absent From The PS Store

Oh, remember the mess with Cyberpunk 2077? Yeah, who could forget, right? After years of teasers, trailers, game expo demos and more, Cyberpunk's release was a mess. Although there were those that could enjoy the game in peace, for some the game was completely unplayable at launch - riddled with game-breaking bugs, huge glitches, sluggish visual rendering, and more.

In the midst of the launch, players were demanding refunds for a game they didn't think was worth their hard-earned money, creating a dilemma for both Sony and Microsoft. The latter, Microsoft, decided to add a warning to the online purchase of Cyberpunk 2077 clarifying "Users may experience performance issues when playing this game on Xbox One consoles until this game is updated". Sony, however, removed the game entirely from the PS store - a real blow to CDPR's game and reputation.

Now, almost two months later, the game is still absent from the PlayStation Store and there hasn't been any indication of when it'll be back. According to PushSquare, CD Projekt Red is saying that it's still "working with Sony" to bring the game back to the store for PlayStation gamers.

Now that does sound encouraging but it probably just depends on the updates that CD Projekt brings to the game to make it more stable for PlayStation 4s in particular. Although CDPR always said that Cyberpunk 2077 was going to look great on all platforms, perhaps PlayStation 4s suffered the worst visuals and bugs. As long as the updates that CDPR release alleviates those issues, we're sure it won't be long until Sony brings the game back to its storefront.

Right now, though, CD Projekt is dealing with a whole other issue at the moment behind the scenes which takes priority. The company was hacked not too long ago, with the hackers taking source code for games like Gwent and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt refused to negotiate with the hackers, and now it seems someone else has purchased the data taken from the Polish development company.
