Xbox drops two bangers for you to download and play this weekend

Dive in before it's too late

It’s that time again. Yes, the latest edition of Xbox’s Free Play Days has arrived, offering Xbox Game Pass subscribers the opportunity to enjoy two titles at no extra cost for a limited time.

The Free Play Days period is already underway and will run until Sunday 19 May at 11.59pm PDT.

As I mentioned, there are two titles available. Both are available to Core and Ultimate tier subscribers, so there’s no missing out if you’re someone who opts for the cheaper option.

The first game available is Killing Floor 2 which is, I won’t lie, somewhat of a kick in the teeth because it’s on offer right now for $1.49 anyway.

Developed by Tripwire Interactive, with support from Saber, Killing Floor 2 is a first-person shooter that launched back in 2016.

It originally landed on PC and PlayStation, with an Xbox launch following in 2017.

Set in a post-apocalyptic Europe, this one’s perfect for those of you who enjoy working your way through hordes of zombie-esque creatures.

“In Killing Floor 2, players descend into continental Europe after it has been overrun by horrific, murderous clones called Zeds that were created by rogue elements of the Horzine Corporation. Civilisation is in disarray, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated,” teases the synopsis.

“But not all have given up hope; a motley group of civilians, soldiers, and mercenaries have banded together to fight the Zed outbreaks. Welcome to the Killing Floor.”

Xbox users will be able to enjoy Indiana Jones and the Great Circle later this year.

Next up, we have 2020’s Planet Coaster: Console Edition from Frontier Developments.

I don’t really need to tell you that this is quite clearly a theme park sim, but I shall do just that anyway.

It’s currently on sale for $12.49 so accessing the game via Free Play Days for nothing is somewhat of a better deal than the aforementioned Killing Floor 2.

“Surprise, delight and thrill crowds as you create the theme park of your dreams! Build and design incredible coaster parks in Planet Coaster with unparalleled attention to detail and manage your park in a truly living world,” reads the game’s description.
