Xbox quietly launching next-gen console sooner than we imagined

But things are going less than smooth

Despite it seeming as though the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S were just released, talk has already turned to Microsoft’s next-gen console, much to fan’s dismay.

Although not yet confirmed, reports have revealed that Microsoft is already working on its next home console just five years after the Xbox Series X/S consoles were launched.

Check out the Xbox Series X/S consoles below!

With Sony finding success with both the PlayStation 5 and the more recent PlayStation 5 Pro and also reportedly working on the PlayStation 6, it would seem as though Microsoft doesn’t want to be left behind.

However, recent reports reveal that the next-gen Xbox console may already be in trouble.

According to insider and leaker Moore’s Law is Dead, his sources from both Microsoft and Intel have revealed that there is some drama between the companies.

The first source, reportedly from Intel, read as follows: "Dude, Microsoft just f***ed us. I guess now we know that their 'letters of intent' mean absolutely nothing. I have no idea if AMD got the contract back, but this left a bad taste in my mouth... and from what I hear we aren't the only company annoyed by the games they're playing lately."

In reply, a source at Microsoft reportedly reached out to Moore’s Law with the following statement: “I honestly have no idea what's going on with management here anymore. We are at least a year behind Sony in SoC development by now, and it almost seems like upper management's seen some metric that's making them doubt our ability to compete with another generation."

Last but not least, yet another source at Microsoft also came forward.

"I do by now believe we are going to launch another generation of Xbox, but the fact that there was this level of uncertainty is very telling... Oh and BTW -the earliest we can do a proper next-gen would be 2027, and anything before that would either be a 'new kind of Xbox' or absurdly rushed."

Of course, this information has not been officially confirmed so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt but if true, it would seem as though these issues will cause a delay for the next Xbox console.

Not only that but being behind Sony would be a massive blow for Microsoft when the former releases the PlayStation 6 (as it is currently known).
