Xbox drops surprise free download available now, no Game Pass needed

Xbox has dropped a surprise free download that doesn't even require an Xbox Game Pass subscription.

It’s always nice when a free game comes along, especially when it’s one as highly anticipated as this one. The game in question is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 isn't even out until this July on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo, but you can get a sample of the game today. How great is that?

"Get hyped for the legendary franchise to return with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4. Everything you loved is back, but revamped with more skaters, new parks, gnarlier tricks, eardrum shattering music, plus a whole lot more," reads the synopsis of the game. "Alert the neighborhood watch and grab your skate buddies because the shred’s not dead. It’s back and better than ever."

However, there is a light catch, it requires you to pre-order the game. Hopefully, this playable demo will be available to all as we edge closer to its big launch.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is the follow-up to the previous batch of remasters, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 which was originally launched in 2019 developed by Blizzard Albany (formely known as Vicarious Visions).

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is now being developed by Iron Galaxy Studios and will have new playable skaters and a whole host of new modes. Not to mention that it will have a collection of fantastic skate parks that will look extra lush with its recreated visuals in glorious 4K and vastly improved framerate. Oh, and it will be a cross-platform title.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be released on 11 July 2025 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It will also launch on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
