A new update to how the Microsoft Rewards program works has pleasantly surprised Xbox users, as it now allows you to redeem hundreds of pounds worth of Xbox Store gift cards in one go.
Thank you in advance to Game Rant's Gabriel Machado Pureza for the original source!
Ever since the Microsoft Rewards program dropped, Xbox gamers have had one main problem with the service: you could only previously redeem gift cards in 5 dollars/pounds increments for Xbox Store credit at a time.

Now, following the new update to the service earlier this month, you can actually consolidate all of your accrued reward currency into one, singular gift card of any custom amount.
While this might not seem like a huge deal on paper, the reason it’s way better than it may sound is because the gift cards you can redeem through the service only last for 90 days– at which point, regardless of whether or not you’ve spent them, they’ll disappear for good.
Over on the r/MicrosoftRewards subreddit, Xbox gamers are thrilled with the new change.
“I just redeemed a $23 gift card to put toward nightreign”, commented user Faramari.

“It's a pretty neat feature.”
“Surprised to see people saying this has been available in the US for a while. It's great for me since I've paid for all my non-GPU games with MSR points for years, and I've never noticed the Custom choice in the dropdown until today”, replied user TheNewBBS.
“I used to redeem via the MSR console app, but have been doing it via the website since they killed the app… Regardless of when it went into place for me, thanks for the notice. I'll definitely be using it from now on.”
Now the real question is, what exactly should you use all your new Xbox store credit on? Personally I’d just use it to redeem some Xbox Game Pass months, but Elden Ring: Nightreign does sound tempting…
