Xbox Series X/S useful hidden shortcut has been right under our noses for years

What a helpful hint, this is

I may sound a bit like the meme of Grandpa Simpson yelling at clouds, but modern technology just has too many options, too many menus hiding away simple features.

This generation of consoles with all their HDR, HDMI linking, upscaling options, and the rest of the list, just boggles the mind, so when I hear about helpful hints, I leap on them, and this Xbox tip is just the ticket.

When browsing Reddit, you tend to find other gamers who are informing others of tips, tricks, and handy console settings to make your life easier.

It’s in one such thread that I saw a tip about a menu shortcut for accessing screenshots and game footage recorded.

Here, a very helpful Redditor called _orangepeel_ said, “Double tap the share button to get straight to your list of captures.”

I’ll admit, this is not something I knew about, though it makes a lot of sense.

I’m not sure whether I’d have double pressed the button in order to see my captures, and usually, I would use the Xbox button and navigate through several menus to get there.

“Damn, I didn’t know this, thank you!” exclaimed SamuraiDeska in reply.

This makes me wonder what else I don’t know about my consoles because it’s not like they come with exhaustive manuals nowadays to break down everything the technology can do.

On top of this, constant updates introduce new features, or streamline old processes.

I really am the old man yelling at clouds, aren’t I?

The whole of that Reddit thread is people shocked they didn’t know anything about this shortcut, with one Xbox fan saying, “What. Wait.” and another commenting, “WHAT.”

This is something all Xbox players should know - and if you did already know this, why didn’t you tell the rest of us?
