The Witcher 3: Primal Needs will push you to the absolute limit

This expansion is wild

This jaw-dropping mod for The Witcher 3 needs more attention, it’s an absolute beast of an expansion.

It’s quite a sad week for The Witcher 3, as it’s about to have its DLC, Blood And Wine, dethroned as the highest-rated DLC of all-time by Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree, which launches tomorrow.

Check out our video review of Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree below

Nevertheless, it had a fantastic run and in many ways both DLCs should be held in the same regard, as they’re both brilliant in their own ways.

However if you don’t quite fancy heading to the Lands Between, or more specifically the Realm Of Shadow, there’s still plenty of content to enjoy in The Witcher 3 once you’ve downloaded a few mods.

The one we’re talking about today is called Primal Needs, created by stefan3372 and downloadable on NexusMods right now.

As you might have gleaned from the title, the mod is all about inserting some more human, primal urges into the game, which should hopefully make things more immersive. Then again, a game where you’re a mutant and slaying all kinds of mythical beasts is already a good few steps away from reality…

The Primal Needs mod’s description states it adds “ hunger, thirst, fatigue, urine and faeces as well as few other elements into the game.”

That’s right, once you’ve got this mod installed you’ll need to feed Geralt, keep him hydrated, give him his beauty sleep and give him a few minutes when nature calls.

The various needs grow at different rates, and it’ll be up to the player to keep track of how Geralt is feeling to maximise his efficiency when faced-down by various ghouls and goblins.

They’re simple changes, but as far as immersion goes it completely changes the game, and should hopefully make you think twice before taking on another hunt so quickly after the last…
