Valheim and Far Cry fans will want to check out this new RPG for free right now.
Despite Far Cry’s tried and tested formula becoming somewhat stale in recent years, the classic entries of yesteryear are still a lot of fun to play today, with gorgeous open worlds and high-octane action.
Sequels such as Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 age like fine wine, and for many, still offer a good distraction while we wait for Ubisoft to officially announce a new game in the series.
Likewise, as fun as the open-world survival game from Iron Gate Studio, Valheim is a blast to play, fans of the Norse mythology-inspired title might be on the lookout for something new.

One such game that could be of interest is developed and published by the indie team at Fairview Games Inc., called The Gold River Project, which is playable with friends or on your lonesome.
“The Gold River Project throws you and your friends into an epic wilderness adventure!” reads the description of the game on Steam.
“Try to escape a gruelling experiment across one of the largest private nature reserves in the Pacific Northwest. You are being watched, studied and manipulated at every turn. Scavenge resources, solve the mysteries within and try to survive another day.”
After watching its trailers on Steam, it looks like The Gold River Project is a lot of fun to play, especially with friends and if you’re also a fan of The Forest (not the football team).

The Gold River Project does not have a release date at the time of writing. However, there is a free playable demo available to download now to give you an early taste of the game.
While we wait for the release date of The Gold River Project to drop, you can also add it to your Steam wishlist to be notified of any updates.
