Steam users can now pick up a new Dungeons & Dragons-style RPG completely free.
If you’re a gamer on a tight budget, it seems wise to go and check out the free offerings made on Steam from time to time.
New free Steam games get added to the platform each week, and this newest RPG release is guaranteed to suck up a lot of your free time and won’t break the bank.
TBH: Task Bar Hero is an idle game that lives on your desktop, where you have to manage an RPG party from your desktop. It’s similar to other “desktop companions” like Rusty’s Retirement and Desktop Pet Engine which run in the background while you work, study, or idle on your PC.

This one, however, should appeal more to fans of tabletop RPGs or video games which play like them, such as Dungeons & Dragons, Baldur’s Gate 3, or Wasteland.
All you need to do is load up the game and leave it running on your screen, and your pixel heroes will automatically start gathering loot and growing stronger on their own.
These characters will explore diverse regions, allowing you to level up their stats and gear, while also allowing you to build strategies and take down waves of monsters.
In total, there are three acts to play through with four difficulty tiers each, where every level is filled with a variety of monsters to defeat.

TBH: Task Bar Hero’s advertised features include allowing you to mix and match classes, items and skills to craft your own unique build, while you can also use the Cube System to add and customise stats on your items.
There are 500+ unique items in the game, encompassing weapons, armour, and other collectibles which bolster your heroes’ strength.
This comes alongside 50+ monster types and 50 unlockable achievements, giving you a reason to continue idling and grind towards maxing out your party.
The adventure also continues automatically while you’re away, so you can step away from your desk or jump on an important work call and still feel like you’re making progress. Thanks to the game’s “lightweight design”, you can run it alongside other programs without any slowdown or errors.
This is helped by the simple controls, which make it easy to pick up and play, where you can keep going for as long as you like.
TBH: Task Bar Hero is available now on Steam for free. It’s currently sitting at 87% positive reviews on Steam, indicating that nearly 9/10 players are enjoying the game.
