If you want to check out one of the newest and most well-received RPGs this month for free, then you’re in the right place.

How many times have we wasted money on a video game that we’ve been looking forward to? With all the pre-release trailers and information drops, it can be easy to get caught up in the hype whether we game on PC, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo.

Watch the Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land trailer!

Sometimes, despite reading reviews, a video game can fall below our expectations. After all, a review is a subjective opinion, which is why being able to check out a free playable demo is always the best way to see if a game is our cup of tea.

One such free playable demo is for the upcoming RPG from Koei Tecmo called Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land and at the time of writing, it’s scoring in the 80s on the aggregate website, Metacritic.

“‘Atelier Yumia’ is a story about ‘memory’. Explore the field to gather materials and synthesis items. The items you create can be key to advancing the story and can also be used in battles and exploration. Additionally, you can create your own base with ‘Building’ in the field,” reads the description of the game on Steam.

“Yumia looks amazing! I recognise some familiar voices too! I'm very excited for this one!” said Doctor_Yiggles in a comments section on YouTube.

“So hyped,” replied aoiuemura.

“I’m definitely getting this,” declared zekromfusion6319.

Judging by the gameplay trailer, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land gives me vibes of the Xenoblade Chronicles and Breath of the Wild, which isn't a bad combination, to be fair.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land will be released on 21 March 2025. Its free playable demo is also available on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
