Steam refund policy changed so you can get your money back, no questions asked

Steam is allowing all The Day Before players to apply for a refund, regardless of how much you've played.

If you were one of the players who brought into the promises made by The Day Before, worry not. Steam has amended its refund policy, allowing all those who purchased the game to get a refund regardless of how many hours you’ve spent playing.

What a messy ol’ week it’s been. The Day Before offered an ambitious and impressive pitch, although one that it could not fulfil. The game finally launched this week and players have labelled it a scam. Whilst it claimed to be an open-world MMO, it ended up being an extraction shooter. The visuals paled in comparison to those shown off during gameplay teases, plus there’s the fact that The Day Before is packed with bugs and glitches. Players were falling through the floor of the first room. Not exactly the best start.

Back when it was announced, The Day Before generated a ton of hype with its vision.

A few days after release, The Day Before was pulled from sale with studio Fntastic also announcing its closure, explaining that they do not have the funds to continue supporting the game. The servers will remain operational for now but if that fact simply doesn’t interest you, you will be able to apply for a refund.

Typically on Steam, you cannot refund a game if you’ve played more than two hours. That rule has been withdrawn for those with a copy of The Day Before. You can apply regardless of your playtime. Simply head to Steam’s support page and make sure you’re logged in on the account you purchased The Day Before on.

Click that you need help with a purchase and then select The Day Before. Choose the reason for refunding, complete the rest of the form, and submit. Steam appears to be respecting all The Day Before refund requests so you don’t need to be too specific about the reason for your application. Hopefully that brings some closure to this debacle.
