This upcoming city-building title on Steam that looks like an adorable mix between Catan and SimCity just got a free demo that’s already got the playerbase obsessed.

Let Them Trade, a cozy city building real-time strategy game from developer Spaceflower and publisher ByteRockers' Games, just released a demo on Steam that has received some legitimately impressive feedback.

The demo dropped roughly four days ago on May 8, and it's already garnerned a 100% "Very Positive" review score with (as of writing) over 60 unique reviews.

So what exactly about this little demo has gotten the folks on Steam so riled up?

Well, it sounds like it’s just doing everything you’d expect from the genre, and looking cute as hell in the process.

“I'm OBSESSED can't wait for the full game! This is the game I've been waiting for and didn't know it!” writes reviewer asbelair3.

“I really like the tutorial as well; it gives you the information you need without being annoyingly in your face!”

“I've been following the development of this game for many years and it's very exciting to see how far it has come!” states reviewer Antares.

“The demo is great fun and I can wholly recommend anyone who enjoys city builders and economy sims to give this one a try. Looking forward to additional features and stuff to come!”

I’m not huge on city building games myself, even though I probably invested about 200 hours into SimCity 3000 as a kid, but one look at the trailer for Let Them Trade convinced me that I need to give this one a go.

Even though I’m sold on the cute-factor alone, a couple of the reviews state that it’s surprisingly easy to make the game devolve into absolute chaos, and that is music to my ears.

The full release is seemingly not too far off either, as the devs have promised a Q3 2025 release date (which means it’ll probably be out sometime just before October), so I’ll be trying this one out ASAP so I can wishlist it ahead of time. I’ll be watching this dev’s future career with great interest…
