Steam drops multiple free downloads you'll have to act fast to grab

Playing video games with friends is considered the beating heart of the community for a lot of people.

In celebration of our love for gaming together, Steam has released several free downloads for you to claim.

Steam Idlers Fest may have come to a close, but another event is already well underway.

The Steam Couch Co-Op Fest is in full swing and will be until 17 February.

With its arrival comes a healthy dose of heavily discounted games, all designed to get you in the mood to call up your friends and arrange a gaming session.

We’re not here to discuss those titles though, for our eyes are set on other prizes, ones which will cost you nothing to obtain.

In the Steam Points Store, there’s a small selection of Couch Co-Op Fest items available to download. These include two animated avatars and an animated frame.

We know that’s hardly the most stimulating set of freebies, however, sometimes less is more.

There’s no specific deadline for when these free downloads expire, though given the end date of the fest (17 Feb), we assume that this offer will adhere to the same deadline.

Even though you need to act fast to claim these goodies, you have a few days left yet before you need to panic download anything.

Of course, should none of these free downloads be of interest to you, nor the fest itself, there are other ways to enjoy the delights of Steam.

Recently, eight free games were added, giving you the opportunity to download and keep them forever.

There are also countless other free titles available, should that selection also not be to your liking either.

In short, even if you don’t like the time-sensitive freebies, there are other free downloads that will be sticking around for the foreseeable future.
