Steam drops 21 free downloads you've 24 hours left to bag

Ironically, you shouldn't be idle right now

Trying to cram 21 free downloads into 24 hours is a tall order, but we think you’ve got the moxie to pull it off.

Right now, there’s a limited number of hours left of Steam’s Idler Fest.

The purpose of this online event is to promote the games you “play while not playing”, the ideal gaming option when you can’t actively participate.

These types of fests are why so many describe Valve’s website as “wholesome” and “cosy” when compared with other platforms.

As for the 21 freebies, they come in the form of demos, providing you with the chance to test drive before committing money to the full game.

We love Steam freebies, even more so when there’s such a wide range of titles to choose from.

Among the demos available is Chonkers, a delightful cat-themed experience that any feline lover should check out.

“Chonkers is my new favourite idle game, gotta find all the cats!” praised YouTube user @Boom3120.

The chunkiest kitties are waiting to be rehomed, and you can help without losing your mind while trying to find them the ideal new home.

From cats to fishes, there’s Chillquarium.

As the name suggests, this is a really relaxed idle game that allows you to create the aquarium of your dreams without worrying your fish will die like Shepard does in Mass Effect.

There’s also a free download for Boba Simulator: Idle Shop Management, giving you the chance to make Boba for a living, free of all sorts of ugly real-life worries.

The above three demos are just the tip of the iceberg. From magic to frog collecting to farming, there’s a variety of ways you can relax with a game in the background.

Unfortunately, as previously mentioned, time is very limited – if you’re going to make the most of these demos, you need to do so now. As in, right now.
