A rather highly rated game on Steam is now suddenly free to download and keep forever… but not for long.

Whenever a free game drops on Steam, it’s a bit of a coin flip taking a risk on it.

Sure, it’s free, but if you played every free game in existence just because it didn’t cost any money, you’d probably end up playing more bad games than good.

That’s why it’s nice that today’s example comes pre-packaged with a relatively positive review score, which means that we won’t have to risk playing it just to find out if it sucks or not.

Said game is Barro GT from developer SC Jogos, a little PvP indie racing game that dropped back in 2022.

It’s currently sitting at a 'Very Positive' review rating, with almost 600 total reviews to its name. So, why do the reviews love it so much?

“Barro GT is a nice little driving game with 26 cars and 21 races”, commented Steam reviewer Lucky Luce.

“The handling is very good, the graphics are nice and the soundtrack is OK. I recommend it!”

“A fine low-poly racing experience with a plethora of features”, writes Steam reviewer Bencurion.

Well, maybe “love it” was a bit of an exaggeration on my behalf, but hey, at least it’s serviceable?

Either way, if you want to try this one out for yourself and make up your own mind, I highly suggest you head on over to Steam and download it ASAP.

That’s because Barro GT is only free until the end of the Steam Racing Fest, which ends on 4 August. That means you’ve got roughly six days left to bag it by the time you read this article.

At least if the game isn’t to your liking, you could always nab some of those free Steam profile icons?
