Steam drops free open-world banger for you to download and keep forever

Zombie killing for free

We love a free game here at GAMINGbible. I’m sure you love a free game too. If you’re a PC player, you can head over to Steam right now and claim a copy of this open-world zombie-battling banger for nothing.

Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition is currently available for no money as long as you have a Steam account. Being the definitive edition of the game, you’ll get the base game as well as a bundle of DLC and updates, too.

Dead Island 2 was a runaway hit sequel to the original game that changed the zombie apocalypse

Are zombie games still popular? It feels like we’ve been flogging a dead corpse for years by this point. If you still love a bit of undead in your games, then you really need to jump on this offer and play Dead Island. While it pales compared to the newer sequel, it was a great game for its time and is worth a revisit now. After all, when do you get to kill zombies in a holiday paradise?

“Welcome to the zombie apocalypse experience of a lifetime – more beautiful than ever. Caught in an epic zombie outbreak on the tropical island of Banoi, your only thought is: Survive!” is the official blurb, but you can take it from me that Dead Island Riptide is basically mulching up zombie corpses in paradise.

The combat here is brutal, bloody, and brilliant, while the story is just the right amount of over-the-top nonsense, which, let’s be honest, is exactly what you want from a game full of the walking dead. Dead Island Riptide originally came out in 2016, so while it won’t feel innovative, at the time it was doing a lot of things differently and players responded well. If all you want is some mindless action, then you’re covered here. Get out there and bash some brains in!
