The challenging rollerskating shooter Rollerdrome is back on Steam after being delisted earlier this year.
In a nutshell, Rollerdrome is what you’d get if you took the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games and added guns.
Set in a futuristic dystopia, there is a deadly sport called 'Rollerdrome', where contestants must perform roller-skating tricks while also defeating waves of enemies using rechargeable weapons.

It’s a fast-paced game that is stylish and strategic at the same time. You play on various courses against tough enemies and have to focus on performing tricks just as much as defeating enemies.
I’ve played plenty of Rollerdrome myself, and can agree it’s a fantastic game. Its roller-skating gameplay really sets it apart from other shooters, and it can be incredibly creative at times.
We reviewed Rollerdrome back in 2022, calling it “an incredible sport and action game, with fun lore pieces to ponder while you’re not catching air, grinding lips and shotgunning opponents”.
Unfortunately, Rollerdrome’s developer Roll7 shut down in 2024 following the sale of its publisher, Private Division.

With the publishing rights to the game up in the air, both Rollerdrome and Roll7’s other game under Private Division, OlliOlli World, were both delisted from online storefronts.
It seems those distribution disputes are now solved, as Rollerdrome has been relisted on Steam along with OlliOlli World.
Certainly good news, considering the positive reception both games received. The game currently has a 92% positive review score on Steam.
2K is now listed as the publisher for both games, so it looks like Private Division does not keep the rights to them.

With Roll7 now closed shop, there’s very little hope for a Rollerdrome sequel. I hold onto hope that some kind of spiritual successor will crop up at some point.
But for now, at least the game will be able to attract new players again.
