If you took the voxel-based aesthetics of Minecraft and added in the whimsy and charm of Stardew Valley, you’d end up with something like Town to City.

Developed by Galaxy Grove and published by Kwalee, this charming cosy city builder has confirmed that it’ll soon be departing early access after launching that period last year.

On 26 May, in just a few days time, Town to City’s 1.0 Version will be deployed, bringing with it loads of new content.

As a city builder, it’s no surprise that Town to City sees you, well, build a city which will be illuminated with a wonderful golden hour hue.

“Build an idyllic 19th-century Mediterranean town and help it flourish into a prosperous city,” the game’s synopsis reads.

“Freely place and customise each element to create the perfect home for your growing population in this cosy city builder from the creators of Station to Station.”

Players are able to place houses, shops, and amenities as they build out their city with the goal being to encourage as many residents as possible to move in.

The higher your population grows, the more build options you acquire.

There’s no building grid, so it’s really very free when it comes to deciding how you want to lay out your city, although you should think about ease of flow for your future residents.

Throughout its early access period, Town to City has garnered a very respectable approval rating of 97% on Steam.

“Addicting & chill vibes. I get absolutely lost in this game. As an avid The Sims 4 builder, this scratches my itch when I don't feel up to playing Sims. 10/10 recommend,” declared one player.

“Perfect combination of management and cosy city builder,” added another.

Tourism Features Are Coming Alongside The 1.0 Launch

Already, the game has welcomed several updates that have only strengthened its already brilliant offering, so you can imagine the excitement around Town to City’s upcoming 1.0 launch.

Its 1.0 update will be accompanied by what’s being dubbed the major Tourism Update.

This introduces new mechanics which will allow players to plan tour routes between hotels that stop off at local landmarks.

Yes, that means you’ll be able to build hotels too, whether that be a cosy boutique or a luxury resort.

The update is set to add new quests, new jobs, a brand-new town, improved animations, and quality-of-life improvements too.

The patch notes aren’t yet available, with those likely landing around the time of launch.

Town to City does, for now, remain a PC exclusive and is available from Steam. Let’s hope, however, that if the game’s 1.0 launch goes well, we could see ports arrive on other platforms.

You can actually enjoy a free sample of what Town to City has to offer via the game’s demo on Steam.

It won’t take you long to get a feel for why Town to City boasts that incredible 97% rating from players.
