Steam users are loving one of this year’s best free games, which is currently sitting on an Overwhelmingly Positive rating.
Overwhelmingly Positive is a hard mark to hit on Steam nowadays so when a game does accomplish it you just know it’s a banger.
Bongo Cat is one of those games, and you can give it a go for free if you haven’t already.
According to the game’s description: “Bongo cat needs your help. Bongo cat needz more hatz!!! Every time you press a key, Bongo cat will punch your taskbar. Type, click, play, work to collect more points. Which hats will you find?”

Sounds delightful, and over 11,000 players that have helped Bongo Cat since the game’s launch last March would agree.
Below you can find a few examples of what players have been saying, as it seems people just can’t get enough of this feline musician.
One review said the following: “I mean, just look at that face. 🐾 That little fluffy paw tapping on the bongos? Heart-melting. You’ll be obsessed with this cat. No, seriously—the cat. It’s the cutest thing in the universe. Not even exaggerating.” We can’t argue with that.
Another said: “This game is the only thing getting me through writing my thesis. I type, the cat plays bongos. Sometimes, I get a new hat or new cat.”

One more described Bongo Cat as not just a game, but a “test of willpower.
At some point the game started talking back. The cat’s eyes opened wider than should be possible. ‘More hats,’ it said. I nodded.”
Some very positive, but also very weird, reviews there, though that’s just the kind of reaction you’d expect for a global phenomenon like Bongo Cat.
If you haven’t played it yet, now is clearly the time to do so, as those hatz aren’t going to collect themselves.

For those who have had their fill of bongos though Steam does have other freebies you can sample.
There are a lot of banging AAA games out at the moment so you’d be forgiven for wanting something a little smaller as a palette cleanser in-between virtual adventures.
We’ve compiled a few lists of strong Steam demos you can play now, featuring some of the latest and greatest games hitting the store pages as well as some lesser known titles.
