Steam has just made a popular game free to download and keep, but you have to be quick.
If you’re like me and prefer to buy games when they’re a bit cheaper, sales and free giveaways are a godsend to building up a large gaming library.
As is the case with Steam and the Epic Games store in particular, free games are pretty common to find on each platform.

As part of a celebration of the entire Borderlands franchise, 2K has made Borderlands 2 free to download and keep on Steam, provided you claim the offer before time runs out.
The Borderlands 2 free giveaway promotion runs from today until 8th June at 6PM BST, so be quick if you want to add it to your game library.
To get Borderlands 2 for free, head to the game’s Steam store page. Make sure you’re logged in, and select “Get Borderlands 2” just underneath the game images.
You should get Borderlands 2 added to your account without any charges.

The free promotion comes along with big discounts on all Borderlands games. The first Borderlands is available at 67% off, while Borderlands 3 can be bought for a whopping 95% off.
Several DLC packs for each game have also been discounted during the sale period, so be sure to pick those up too while they’re cheap if you want them.
The Borderlands franchise sale runs until 19th June, which is a little longer than the free promotion for Borderlands 2.
So if you find time to play a little and want to pick up some DLC or another game afterwards, you’ll still have time to do so.
