Holocure - Save The Fans may not be a title on your radar, but perhaps it should be given its 97% ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews on Steam.

Developed by KayAnimate, Holocure - Save The Fans is an action game, combining aspects of the roguelike, bullet hell, and top-down shooter genres.

If you’re familiar with Hololive, you may recognise some of the Vtubers featured, but don’t worry if not.

Holocure - Save The Fans essentially tasks you with clearing your way through hordes of fans in order to save said Vtubers from mind control.

Despite featuring known Hololive Vtubers, this is actually an unofficial fan-made game, albeit one that could just as well be an official release based on the hype surrounding it.

“This is a free, unofficial fangame featuring the Vtuber talents of Hololive and its surrounding community, with gameplay heavily inspired by Vampire Survivors and Magic Survival,” the synopsis reads.

“Collect powerful weapons and items and experiment with all kinds of character builds to create the ultimate character! Will you be able to save the endless waves of fans, and reach the top rankings?”

As that synopsis mentioned, Holocure - Save The Fans is totally free, plus it’s already garnered those incredible reviews I touched upon earlier.

“It's free, fun, and has no micro-transactions. I mean, give it a go at least,” wrote one reviewer with close to 70 hours of playtime.

“Even setting aside how good this is as a big love letter to Hololive, this game is just super fun on its own. Even if you don't know anything about Hololive or Vtubers in general, I would recommend this,” added another.

“One of the best games I've ever played. [...] Highly addicting gameplay mixed with amazing features. It, to say the least, isn't just beauty, it's something more, it's perfection,” read one review.

It sounds like it's well worth giving a go. You’ve got little to lose when it’s free - other than time, of course.
