Steam new free game already has 98 percent positive reviews

Reviews are very positive

This Steam free game has a near-perfect rating and could be a nice little surprise to keep you busy this weekend.

There are tons of free indie games on Steam, some much better than others, but with so much shovelware to choose from, it can be a gruelling task picking out the good from the bad.

That being said, when we stumble across a random Steam indie hit, it can take social media by storm, even if it only lasts a week or two.

One prime example of a fantastic indie game taking social media by storm is Schedule I, which, according to SteamDB, garnered well over 450,000 concurrent players a few months ago. Today, it hovers around a respectable 10k to 17k concurrents.

Another indie game on Steam that has been getting great reviews is one called SurfsUp (not to be confused with the animated movie).

Granted, I’d be shocked if it garnered Schedule I numbers, but with 98% of reviews being positive on Steam, it’s a great place to start.

“SurfsUp is a free-to-play, high-speed multiplayer platformer where precision movement and air-surfing are the keys to setting your personal best time or even breaking a world record,” reads the description of the game developed by Mark Arneman.

After looking at the gameplay trailer on Steam, it kinda reminds me of 1080° Snowboarding on the N64 and Rez from the SEGA Dreamcast.

At the time of writing, based on the 198 Steam reviews, SurfsUp has a “Very Positive” rating.

“It’s a good surfing experience. As long as the dev keeps the updates coming, it will become a great thing,” wrote Kirby. “It’s already pretty competitive, and that is great to see.”

“This is the surf community we have been waiting for,” exclaimed Rose. “All the new and old surfers have to download this game. Please play, it's amazing and just keeps getting better!”

“I'm yet to beat a single level...But this game is a blast!” said MLGNitr0.

So, what are you waiting for? Surf's Up!
