If you want to claim a charming Steam game for free, then you better act fast to avoid missing out because you’ve only got a week to do so.

It’s always nice to claim a free video game whether it’s via subscription services such as PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass. However, if we can get a game for free with no subscription needed, especially one that looks to be quite promising, it’s always a bonus.

Check out the Isle of Jura trailer below!

One such game is the indie title on Steam called Isle of Jura developed by EM Games. At the time of writing, Isle of Jura does have a Steam review rating of “mixed” but for a free game, there’s not a lot to lose, at least when it comes to money.

“Alex needs to finish her biology report! Looking for species to study, she's taking a fishing trip to Jura, a remote and beautiful island,” reads the description of the game on Steam.

Isle of Jura looks to be a charming game that allows you to fish and explore a tropical island, giving me small vibes of Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda, to an extent.

In total, there are over 50 different species of fish to catch with three master techniques to learn as well as hidden artefacts to discover on the island at your leisure.

“For a free game, it's not bad. It's basically web-fishing but without the multiplayer and the janky images. Not much to do, but since it's free, I can't really knock it,” said Steam user Pika.

“A small indie game using minimalistic graphics. This game gives me a retro feeling, which I appreciate,” BurningTurtle wrote.

If you want to download and keep Isle of Jura for free to see if it’s your cup of tea, then you need to act before 9 March 2025 at 5pm BST. After that, it reverts to its already cheap price of £4.29.

Isle of Jura is out now on PC.
