If you're anything like us, you might have spent an ungodly number of hours on classic RPGs like Skyrim, Elder Scrolls, and The Witcher.
Despite being colossal games with seemingly never-ending questlines, they all have limits - there's only a certain number of NPCs to save in each.
But what if there was no limit? What if there was an endless RPG to sink your teeth into? An everlasting dungeon crawler with infinite scaling and increasingly short odds of survival that continue to be defied.
Well, ahead of the weekend, Steam is granting your wishes, as a steampunked, free, online action RPG called Crystalfall is landing.
Inspired by Diablo II and Path of Exile, Crystalfall is a top-down dungeon crawler set in the aftermath of an apocalypse. Driven by loot gathering to continuously scale up and face fearsome foes, CRG Studio plunges you into the role of a convict who needs to escape through dungeons to rid the world of its new mutated inhabitants.

Aside from the narky protagonists, the real selling point is its extensive progression system, which allows players to develop and trial any playstyle that suits them, using loot to harness their skills while preparing for its endgame.

Speaking of endgame, how can an endless game have an end? Well, that's where the beauty of Crystalfall lies. The RNG-based design for the endgame means that new maps, fresh bosses, and deeper skill trees emerge with every wave of endgame that you face, unwavering in its customisation.
Crystalfall launches on Steam today (April 10, 2026), with a small 8GB file size, which promises to pack more action per megabyte than anything else on the platform.
Early reviews suggest that the talent tree has proved to be a successful addition from the playtests, although the servers may need some patience to live up to the expectations of a busy launch weekend.
But if you can spare a few lifetime's worth of hours, this game could keep you on your toes for an unlimited time.
This comes as just the latest RPG to land on Steam's phenomenal RPG list, following in the acclaimed footsteps of its recent 'solid 10/10' hit Void of Lilly.
