Steam users will be able to enjoy a free weekend for a popular action RPG this weekend.

Vampire RPG V Rising has remained a favourite amongst fans of the genre in the four years since it came to Steam Early Access.

Despite hitting version 1.0 in 2024, Stunlock Studios has been steadily supporting the game with new updates and DLC over time, with further new content and patches teased for later this year.

In the meantime, however, Stunlock Studios would love to get your opinions on the game in its current state, and what better way to do that than give it a free weekend?

V Rising’s Free Weekend Will Let You Sample The Full Game All Weekend

The free weekend for V Rising runs from 14 May at 10 AM PT to 18 May at 10 AM PT. In the UK, that’s at 6 PM.

With it being a free weekend, that means pretty much anything in the base game will be available to you to play, with no expectation or obligation to pay. However, the DLC is still locked behind a paywall during this time.

While the game will be free during this period, those who want to pick up V Rising full-time and continue playing past the end of the weekend can also purchase it for a 55% discount during the event.

All the DLC will also be 20% off during this time, making it an ideal time to continue your journey if you end up picking up the full game.

V Rising is an action RPG where you play as a vampire and must hunt for blood to survive, as well as build up your allies and gain a foothold in vampire society.

It’s rated 89% positively on Steam, meaning that nearly nine out of ten people who have played it would recommend you try it.

The blurb on the game reads: “Awaken as a weakened Vampire after centuries of slumber. Hunt for blood to regain your strength while hiding from the scorching sun to survive.

“Build a mighty castle worthy of your name and convert humans into loyal thralls to serve your growing empire.

“Pillage villages, raid bandit camps, and challenge supernatural beings, drinking their blood to steal their power. Make allies or enemies online or play solo locally and wage war in a world of conflict.

“Seize your destiny, defy Dracula, and rise as the ultimate predator to rule the night!”

In addition to PC, V Rising is also available on PlayStation 5. While there's no free weekend on PS5, there's nothing stopping you from playing the free weekend on PC and then purchasing it later on PS5 if you end up enjoying it.
