If you like massive RPGs, particularly with gorgeous anime visuals, then let me point you towards this free demo on Steam.

It’s a short trial for one of the best RPGs in recent years, and all you need to claim the demo and play it is a Steam account.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age is a triumph in the genre, and one that should have you looking over from anything else you’re currently playing to check this out.

For many years, I’ve been constantly telling people to play the Dragon Quest series, especially if you’re already fans of Square Enix.

Though they’re most known for the Final Fantasy franchise, Dragon Quest has been going for decades, and while they’re very different beasts, they’re equally brilliant.

It’s true that Dragon Quest XI S doesn’t feature as much brooding, angst of melodrama, but it does tell a wonderful story of a young hero seeking answers to a mysterious past, battling against dark forces in the world.

Joining up with a great group of characters, each of which is memorable for epic moments, you’ll be swept away by this adventure which will clock in at around 130 hours, if you’re a completionist.

With designs based on Akira Toriyama, famed for his work on Dragon Ball and throughout Japanese manga, every scene looks like a stunning painting, with eye-popping colours.

A huge world awaits, hiding away delightful secrets, and plenty of awesome battles.

Using the traditional turn-based combat, this is a far cry from the action games currently keeping everyone busy, but that doesn’t make the fights here a pushover.

You’ll be tested every step of the way, and when you’re not paying attention, the story will smack you in the gut with emotional punches.

Give the demo a try and if you love it, and I think you will, add it to your wishlist for future purchasing.
