This very well received Steam game can be yours for free right this second… although there is a catch.
If the creepy, horrifying monsters of both Bloodborne and Resident Evil tickle your fancy, then today’s free survival horror game may be right up your street– but, much like in the game itself, you’re going to need a friend’s help.
Whisper Mountain Outbreak us a co-op, PvE survival horror game on Steam from developer and publisher Toge Productions, who is responsible for publishing some absolute bangers.
Seriously, these guys have worked on some heaters over the past few years. A Space for the Unbound, Coffee Talk, When The Past Was Around… just back to back bangers since they arrived on the scene.

Well Whisper Mountain Outbreak is no different in that regard, based off the rather complimentary Steam reviews, which is why it’s handy that you can play through the game at no cost… as long as you know someone who already owns it, that is.
The Whisper Mountain Outbreak Friend's Pass allows anyone to hop into a co-op game with a friend, by simply downloading the pass and then setting up a lobby with a friend.
Of course, if you’re feeling generous, you could simply buy the game for yourself and then rope a friend into playing through it with you.
But would it be worth it to do so? Here’s some of the Steam reviews, if you need extra convincing.

“Really cool game, but, more importantly: what a cool thing to do for your game's player base,” writes Steam reviewer Auburok.
“Extra points for making it a dual purpose by including a solo demo.”
“Multiplayer zombie survivor like Resident Evil Outbreak? Heck yeah!” writes Steam user Mother of Red Bull.
And hey, if you do decide to buy it, it’s pretty cheap anyway.

But maybe have a browse through your Steam friends and see if any of them own it first, just to save a few bucks.
