Four free new games just dropped on Steam, and at least two of them look like they’re legitimately great. Makes a nice change.
As always, thank you in advance to the Free Steam Games Twitter account for their efforts in collating all of these free titles!
I’m going to try to rank these in order of worst to best, but keep in mind that I’ve not actually played any of these (yet). I’m entirely just going off of vibes (and Steam reviews).

First up, Black Dungeon: Draw A Card from developer and publisher MCASWENGAMES. This is like a little rouge-lite, card game, top-down action game fusion, and honestly, I think it looks super fun.
You might be wondering why I put it so low down on the list in that case, and, unfortunately, that’s because it isn’t available in English. Not the dev’s fault, and it does seem a bit unfair to dock it points for that, but it does seem like it’d be difficult to play if you can’t read the cards.
Next up, Orbit Maze from developer and publisher Esra Koç Yılmaz. It’s a 3D platforming and parkour game, and it kinda looks like an indie dev’s take on Super Mario Odyssey to me. Looks fun for an hour or two.
Alright, I think this one looks incredibly fun: Gravebound from developer Atomic Game Labs and publisher Student Game Developer Association.

It’s basically a first-person shooter where spooky skeletons are your enemies, and apparently it’s got some roguelike elements to it. It’s giving me Serious Sam vibes, and I mean that as a compliment. Reviews on Steam are very positive too.
And, finally (deep breath) Heavy Spoilers RPG: The true identity of the final enemy is the hero's father (aaaaand breathe out) from developer KSBゲームス and publisher Gotcha Gotcha Games.
So, this one is a bit of a surprise for me, because I took one look at those default RPG Maker assets and thought this was just going to be some silly, throwaway project from a bored teenager that made its way onto Steam.
But, according to the 100% positive reviews on Steam, apparently, this is actually a banger of a game. It’s fully voiced, it’s actually fun to play, and the story is funny. Not to spoil anything (ironically), but the default RPG Maker assets are a bit of an artistic choice from the devs. Might have to try this one out to see what all the fuss is about.

And that’s the whole list! See you back here in a couple of weeks for the next one, because there will be a next one.
