Steam users have got a special treat for Christmas, a highly-rated RPG that’s completely free for a limited-time.

It’s the season of giving and this year a lot has been given on the Steam store. From demos, to playtests or free-to-own games gamers haven’t been short on new stuff to play and now they can end the year right with one more freebie.

The Deed: Dynasty, an RPG that comes highly-recommended from those who have played it, is now free to own until Christmas Day.

Released in 2016 the RPG’s description reads: “Getting away with murder has never been easy. These three members of a proud and noble family are separated by five centuries, but have in common a vengeful and murderous intent. Plans must be formed, blood must be spilled and evidence must be planted …”

It’s all about planning and executing the perfect murder down to the minor details, and ensuring that if anyone is going to go down for the crime it won’t be you.

After carrying out your murder you can then frame one of the other characters to get away scot-free.

Stylistically it looks like an ordinary top-down RPG but it plays like a strange take on the Hitman series in my opinion.

Other players have a lot of good stuff to say, and at the time of writing the game is currently sitting at a Very Positive rating on the Steam store with over 500 reviews.

“Really fun and enjoyable” began one review, it’s simple, smooth, and entertaining, with great gameplay and good vibes all around … Overall, a solid game that’s fun, relaxing, and has just the right amount of challenge.”

“What a pleasant surprise this game was!” began another, “Replay value is moderate to high since you can go back and try to get endings for every character in that time period. I wasn't satisfied until I got certain people framed- they totally deserved it.”

One more said: “Better RPG maker game in the market, bought for $2 but would easily pay $10 on it, original, fun, replayable, kill the target, frame someone else, a lot of possibilities 11/10”

If you fancy pulling off the perfect murder yourself you can do so for free at the moment, as The Deed: Dynasty is free to own and play from now until Christmas Day, 25 December.

Don’t worry if you miss out though as the game isn’t expensive, it’s about the price of a coffee.
