You know the drill; it’s time for me to update you on Steam’s latest free-to-play additions.
As brought to our attention by the ever-reliable SteamGamesPC, eight new free titles have landed on the service - all of which are available for you to download and enjoy right now.
Let’s begin with Blightspire, a “fast-paced, wave-based survival shooter” from Bubonic Brotherhood.
In this title, you’ll “battle through a cursed graveyard as undead abominations rise in endless waves”.

It’s already secured a ‘Mostly Positive’ review score, and boasts a very cool aesthetic; think Red Dead meets Bloodborne but pixel art.
If you prefer something a bit slower-paced, you may enjoy There Will Be Light from Byond Studios.
In this top-down puzzle adventure, you’ll descend into a dreamlike subconscious where “foggy thoughts cloud the path forward”.
It looks incredibly relaxing, with a story that tackles human fears and negative subconscious thoughts.

On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, there’s The Mountain and The Moron from Rasberry Pi, a challenging 3D rage platformer.
Your job is to climb a mountain but clearly, that’s not going to be an easy task; mess up and you’ll plummet back to the bottom.
Amicable Animal and eggysworld’s Upfall isn’t too dissimilar. It’s a precision platformer.
Here, you’ll dodge and bounce your way upwards using bubbles - avoiding near death experiences in the process.

This one has a ‘Positive’ review score already too.
In the FPS space, you can check out Ruyn HD by developer Flump Studios.
If you’re familiar with Ruyn, this is a remake created in Unreal Engine 5 introducing modern visuals, smoother controls, updated audio, and tighter gunplay.
Fancy a bit of stealth-based horror survival sci-fi action? Gosh, that was a mouthful.

Doppler Studios brings us Parallel where you’ll assume the role of astronaut sent to investigate what happened on a particular space station.
It’s a story set up we’ve all heard before, but I’m sure Parallel will introduce its own grisly foes.
If psychological horror is more your thing, Eiko Interactive has released Living Nightmares - False Familiar.
“Carl Williams, a 15-year-old boy, finds himself alone at home one unsettling night. What begins as a quiet evening soon spirals into something far stranger. Shadows shift, silence speaks, and someone—or something—seems to know him better than he knows himself,” the synopsis reads.

This one has already secured ‘Mostly Positive’ reviews, and is told from a first-person perspective.
Finally, Gluten Free Games has launched Infinite Blue.
This one’s described as an eco-sim, where you’re basically given the option to live as any under sea creature.
Unfortunately, it has ‘Mixed’ reviews, with players criticising the lack of content and poor optimisation.
All of the above titles can be downloaded and enjoyed right now.
