Eight free games just dropped on Steam for you to download right this second, but you may wanna take a browse through what’s on offer before you reflexively hit download on all of these (I swear there are a few good-looking ones at the end).
Thank you in advance to the Free Steam Games Twitter account for spotting these ones!
First up you got Soda Splash. This is a “multiplayer co-op survival” in which you beat up cans of soda. No real consensus on this one yet, review-wise, but it certainly looks like a game (I promise these get better as we go on).

Next up we’ve got Texas Hold'em Poker: Pokerist. It’s free-to-play poker, but apparently it’s got a bunch of annoying ads in it. A potentially decent one out there for folks desperate to play poker without actually gambling.
There’s also Spring Adventure. It looks like a bit of a cheaply made co-op horror game, but somehow at least better looking than poker with ads. Also looks like a solo dev project so, not gonna be too mean to this one.
Cats & Critters: A Dungeon Claw-er looks playable and gets points for having a funny name. Alright, I might be being a little mean on this one, because while it does look as basic as can be, it does potentially look like a laugh with some mates.
Uh, next is Grandpa: Bread Adventure. This one has positive reviews, somehow, but looks like an absolute fever dream of a game. I think it’s supposed to be kind of “lol so random” sort of funny, but as a potential dumb platformer, you could do worse.

Ok, an actual potentially decent-looking one - Four Mini Kingdoms War. No review consensus here either, but it looks like a lot of love went into the art and I have a soft spot for tower defence games so, I’m giving this one a “potentially not bad?” out of 5.
Arcane Raiders looks… kinda good, actually? Phew. Almost all the reviews are positive on this one, and it looks like dumb fun with a mate or two. This might actually be worth taking a shot on the download.
And finally, Fall of the stick knights (while not being properly capitalised) actually looks great. It looks like a dumb but potentially fun take on TowerFall Ascension. It’s a silly-looking 4 player free for all, and I genuinely think I’m going to give this one a shot. The reviews are super positive at least.
We made it guys. This is the end of the list. At least those last three look decent. Sometimes games are free for a reason, I guess.
