Steam Next Fest is your best chance to try hundreds of games for free, but you haven’t got long left.

If you’re unfamiliar with Steam Next Fest, it’s basically a digital festival celebrating upcoming games coming to the platform, mainly indie titles if anything.

If you’re a fan of indie games, I’d recommend Botany Manor.

It’s a good chance to get involved and try some titles that you might not otherwise have if you had to pay for them, and it supports developers trying to get their project off the ground, which is always lovely.

The event kicked off on 24 February and will continue to run until 3 March, which means you don’t have long left to dive in if you haven’t already, or check out any games you haven’t seen yet.

There are a lot of games to try so don’t feel bad if you can’t try them all, and if you’re looking for something in particular, you can filter the freebies by genre.

They’re not all bangers, and some of them are incredibly weird, but that’s the fun of Steam Next Fest; you don’t know what you’re going to end up seeing.

A highlight for me was a game that combined the horror of Silent Hill with FIFA, something I don’t think I’d have thought of in my wildest dreams, or nightmares.

At the time of writing, you’ve got a few days left to give some freebies a go, and if you like what you play, you can add them to your wishlist for updates on the launch of the full game.

Definitely don’t sleep on this opportunity. It’s a great way to help out aspiring creators, find a game that could become one of your new favourites, and it gives you something to do during an uneventful evening, for free nonetheless.
