The weekend is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than with a selection of brand-new, and very free, games.

That is what your weekend plans can consist of thanks to Steam which has added four free games to its PC storefront.

So if you are in the mood for a 2D fighter, a turn-based card battler, an MMORPG, or a 3D platformer, then stay tuned to see how you can grab them this weekend.

First up is Strike Back, a 2D ground-based fighting game perfect for beginners or veterans of the genre.

Unlike other fighting games, you will not need to rely on jumping, throwing or crouching, instead you must purely rely on your strikes in a game where spacing, temp, and whiff punishing are the keys to victory.

Next is War Grid Hero, a turn-based card battle game where you must build up your deck of cards in able occupy zones and earn points to defeat your opponents.

Developed by an independent creator, this game features three main modes: online mode, guide mode, and practice mode which means that you can find a playstyle to suit you as you master the mechanics.

If you want to dive into MMORPG then Slays Demons in the DaTang could take your fancy.

With a 45-degree perspective and no locked combat mode, players can choose from a variety of different professions - such as swordsmen or gunners - in order to learn various techniques, improve their level and face the game’s punishing dungeons.

Last but by no means least is Night of the Living Skurre.

This 3D, third-person, action-platformer will see you have tons of fun by setting up various pranks as none other than a squirrel.

Hide to avoid detection, get chased if you are discovered, and watch and laugh as your victims fall down the stairs. Hey, you are just protecting your home, right?

All these games are thousands more are free to download and keep courtesy of Steam.
