If you want to claim some Steam freebies, then you need to act fast before they’re gone forever.

Whether it’s full-length games or DLC, it’s always nice to claim some free content for the video games we love.

However, sometimes it’s also nice to grab some freebies that will make our online gaming profiles a little more fancy.

ICYMI: LEGO Horizon Adventures launches this week.

For many of us, our first experience of gaming-on-the-go was likely with the Nintendo Game Boy. Yet, there may be some of you out there that fondly remember the Milton Bradley Microvision from 1979.

Seriously, if you have one of those, you could be sitting on a little pot of gold.

Whether it’s sitting at home while your partner watches something on the TV, a family party you never wanted to attend, or commuting to the big city, handheld gaming is a blessing.

The most common methods of gaming-on-the-go nowadays are via the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck and, of course, mobile devices.

Though I would love to see Sony release a proper PS Vita successor (and no, I’m not counting the PlayStation Portal).

For the topic of today’s discussion, we’re going to focus on Valve’s impressive Steam Deck and by extension, Steam itself.

Compared to a beast gaming PC, while lacking the same kind of power, the Steam Deck can cost a fraction of the price and you need not worry about having to update the system with the latest hardware.

As with many other consoles, you can customise your profile by purchasing animated avatars and borders with most varying from 100 points to 2000 points.

You can also claim free avatars and borders though from time to time, such as those related to the ongoing Cooking Fest.

Whether you're playing via Deck or PC, you can currently nab the ‘Chopping Chef’ animated avatar, the ‘Shimmering Pot’ animated sticker, and the ‘Bountiful Border’ frame totally for free to adorn your profile.

All items are available to claim now, but they’ll disappear in less than 24 hours, so grab them quickly to avoid missing out.

It's a fun way of personalising your device.
