Steam Giving Away 12 Freebies Right Now, But You Don't Have Long

Steam continues its recent run of good form when it comes to giving us all free stuff by adding another dozen cosmetics to the current range, though you will have to jump through an easy hoop or two to get them into your account.

QuakeCon 2025 has just drawn to a close over in Texas, as fans of the legendary game gathered for a huge LAN party, competitive tournaments and other special events centred on Bethesda's spectacular series.

Fortunately for us, the festivities are not quite done yet, with 12 items available in the Steam Points Shop for free. In order to get access to them, you'll need to tune into the ongoing stream on Steam for more than 25 minutes, while logged into your account.

Fortunately the stream currently seems to be continuously looping, so you won't need to worry too much about making sure they are online. The only thing to be aware of is that the stream is only set to continue to tomorrow, so you'll need to get on before then.

Once you've watched the required amount of Quake, head over to the Steam Points Store and you should find the items available to add to your collection for free.

Amongst them, you'll find two Avatar Frames, six Animated Avatars, one Animated Sticker and one Mini-Profile Background. There is also a marketable Profile Background and a secret 12th item that's revealed after watching.

If Quake is not your thing, there is a similar offering available from the current Steam 4X Fest. With a focus on games in the 4X strategy genre, there are several free cosmetics in the Point Store, including an animated castle and army.

You have until August 14 to grab your Quake goodies, whilst Steam 4X Fest is set to run until August 18 for those items.
